Ten Questions and Answers about National Women’s History Month
1. Do we have permission to use the information on your website www.nwhp.org?
You are welcome to use all the information posted on the www.nwhp.org site. Please credit the site whenever possible. If you want to print a copy of any website information that has more than one page, first you need to highlight the entire document and copy it, and then paste it into a word document. This will allow you to print the entire document.
In addition to the information on our homepage about the 2009 Theme and 2009 Honorees, there is a lot of information in the Women’s History Month and Resource Center sections, which you can access in the left hand column of the website’s homepage www.nwhp.
2. How long will it take to receive my order?
First, check with your Purchasing Department to make sure that the order has already been place. We ship from California within two working days. The rest depends on distance and the UPS service you choose. Even if you are in Maine, it should not take more than 1 week from the time you place the order to the time you receive it.
If you need it sooner...consider 3-Day UPS, which would guarantee delivery within 5 working days, or 2-Day UPS, which guarantees delivery within 3 working days, or Overnight Delivery. To insure 2-Day or Overnight Delivery, the order must be place before 12 noon California time. Remember to check with your Purchasing Department to make sure the order is placed. 3. Can we be billed for our purchase?

4. When will the President issue the 2009 National Women’s History Month Presidential Proclamation?
The President has not yet issued the 2009 National Women’s History Month, but when he does, it will be posted on the White House website http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing_room/PresidentialActions/ In the meantime, you can use our sample proclamation as a model for proclamations that your local city council or board of supervisions can issue in honor of March being National Women's History Month.
5. How do I get the schools in my community to celebrate National Women’s History Month?
Let them know that March is National Women’s History Month and s uggest they visit our website for information and resources. Encourage your local schools to have students write an essay or draw a picture about the theme, "Women Taking the Lead to Save Our Planet ” Encourage “green” projects designed to help students at every grade level discover, recognize, and duplicate the ways that women are saving the planet. Consider taking a 2009 Official Theme Poster, banner, or 2009 Themed Bookmarks Set of 30 to make women’s history month visible at the school. If you are feeling very generous, donate a Women’s History Month 2009 Official Program Kit No Video to a school or library in your community.
6. Do you have any suggestions about how to get my local newspaper and radio stations to mention that March is National Women’s History Month?
Make sure that environmental organizations in your community know that the theme for National Women’s History Month 2009 is “Women Taking the Lead to Save Our Planet” and suggest that a reporter interview women in your community who are active in the “green” movement. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper explaining the need to celebrate and recognize women's historic contributions and include information about National Women’s History Month and suggestions of specific women from the community to interview. 7. What is the best way for me to have more information about National Women’s History Month, the 2009 Theme, and the 2009 Honorees?

8. Do you have any program ideas?
Invite a woman from history to be at your celebration program. See the NWHP listings of Women's History Performers and Authors and Presenters. There may be a performer in your community that you can plan a special program with or one of the listed National Performers can travel across the country to be at your event. Invite a special speaker. See the NWHP listings of Authors and Presenters or Our Distinguished Speakers Bureau these presenters can make history come alive with their intellect and enthusiastic presentation about a specific area of women’s History. Order the 2009 “Women Taking the Lead to Save Our Planet” logo and include it on all your correspondence, planning, and program material.
